CHAPARRAL WEEPING FRUITLESS MULBERRY
Morus alba ‘Chaparral’
Compared to the more common Pendula
cultivar, Chaparral has a lot to offer. Its superior traits include:
finer-textured, lobed leaves that look like miniature fig leaves, true
sterility (no messy fruits), and a more refined habit in general. The
plant, if left to its own devices, forms a sprawling mound or groundcover.
It can of course be trained to any desired height and from there its elegant
branches will cascade down. The trunk can be trained straight or serpentine
and with our own-rooted transplants, you’ll never have the unsightly
off-type suckers of budded or grafted trees. Hardiness to USDA zones 4 or
5.
