‘Aureomarginata’
Also known as Daphne odora ‘Marginata’
this is the best know cultivar of this HIGHLY fragrant species. Most often
seen planted next to high-traffic areas, you’ll smell it well before you see
it when it’s in bloom in early spring. Flower buds are bright purple red
opening to light (almost white) purple interiors with their lovely scent.
The leaves are evergreen with dark green centers and thin, irregular white
margins. Habit is densely branched and rounded, from 2 to 4’ high and
wide. Adapted to USDA zones 6/7 to 9. (Available only in small paper
plugs).
